Antique Car Horns

Antique Car Horns

This week we have a fun new find from our recent buying trip. The “Pick of the Week” are a great pair of Solid Brass Antique Car Horns. These are from the early days of automobiles, back when horns weren’t a standard feature. Sometimes these kind of horns were used on carriages. Both horns have their reeds and original mounting brackets. As you can see both are missing their bulbs. Those are easily replaceable and available online.

Antique Salesman’s Sample Drop leaf Table

Our “Pick” this week is another hard to find item. It is a very collectable, antique, maple, Gate-leg, drop-leaf table in it’s original finish. The table stands 10 1/2″ high and the top measures 15 5/8″ by 21″ when fully open and 15 5/8″ by 8 1/4″ when closed. There are some rings and light stains on the top; these only add to the charm of this adorable little table. Salesman’s sample furniture is a wonderful collectable for the furniture lover. The small size makes for an excellent display and there are sample sizes of many larger pieces of furniture.

Beautiful Antique Oak Plant Stand

2 tier plant stand
2 tier plant stand

Our “Pick” this week is just in today and it is a beautiful antique oak two tier plant stand. The turnings are reminiscent of the Victorian style yet the tiers are shaped with unmolded edges suggesting that is was produced after the Victorian era. This piece was most likely produced between 1890 and 1930. It is made of solid oak and appears to have been recently refinished and stained a nice Jacobean Oak color. The Tulips were looking particularly nice today, I thought everyone should see them.
