This week our “Pick” is going to Discogs. It’s The Mugwumps, who are the Mugwumps you might ask. Well, in the summer of 1964, before they were part of the Mamas and the Papas, Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty along with Jim Hendricks (The Lamp of Childhood) and Zal Yanovsky (The Lovin’ Spoonful) got together to record these nine songs. In these early recordings it is easy to see that these people were on their way to greatness. It is folk, pop and full of heart.
This week our “Pick” is just in to the shop in Williamston, a Hubley 495 WW 2 Navy fighter plane. It is from the 1960’s and so very cool. Fold up wings and landing gear, spinning propeller and a little pilot. The paint is in great shape although the cockpit insert is missing. This piece will be going onto Etsy after the shop closes later this month if it is still around.
A new record collection has been acquired. Highlights include David Bowie, Bob Marley, Kiss, Meat Loaf, Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher and some Motown. The best ones have been priced the rest will soon follow. Stop in soon for the best selection.
